Victor Nunez is an esteemed independent filmmaker who creates high-quality, memorable portraits of life about characters who struggle with personal adversity. Nunez is best known for writing and directing Ulee's Gold, a potent relationship drama in which Peter Fonda gives his finest performance since Easy Rider (For his work in the title role, Peter Fonda won a Best Actor Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor. Victor Nunez won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Director and Best Screenplay).

Victor's critically acclaimed films include Gal Young 'un, A Flash of Green, and Ruby in Paradise, a film that launched Ashley Judd's career as an actress and garnered a Grand Prize win at the Sundance Film Festival. Victor's films have been selected three times for Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. He is a founding member of the Independent Feature Project.

Victor grew up in Peru and Tallahassee, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree from Antioch College and earned a MFA in film directing from UCLA.
